Beag's 67 Chevelle. Supercharged Summer

I still can't manage my ADD worth a crap. But between doing miscellaneous stuff I finally bent my last brake line.
Decided to do a quick write up on the AN stainless line. If anyone cares how I did it.

Cut the line.
And deburr it. Get yourself a 37 degree counter sink.

Deburr.

You need to slip on your tube nut and ferrule.
And get yourself a good quality 37 degree flaring tool.
After I looked around everyone says the ridged was the way to go. It has a automatic brake way so you can't overtighten.
You want to recess the tube slightly. I learned through trial and error.

I like to use lots of water displacement on the 40th try when I am tightening the flare tool down.

Once your done the fitting will look like this.

Then you can bend your lines cut to fit and flare the other end.
And your set.

Last line on. (Middle line)

Tomorrow night I have to take all my lines off and clean them with brake clean. Then I'll tighten everything down and start bleeding.

I found the line is less likely to crack the deeper I let the countersink dig.
Oil helps alot.
I like the tube nut as it seems like they are less likely to strip with an open end.
Put the ferrule on the right way dummy!
( no pictures of that)

You have to have stainless tube to use this.

Think that's it.....

Seems like a growing trend ... 3 steps forward, 4 steps back :doah:

I once heard (or read) that the last 10% of a project takes 90% of the time. Definitely feeling that way to me. My list is down to just a few items but I'm still picking away.

Just a few notes of things.

Realized that the master cylinder pushrod was to short. Ordered a new longer one.

Managed to strip a stud on the brake caliper. Don't know how I managed that one.
Ordered with new nuts.

Spent time cleaning up some hack wiring for the turn/parking signals. Old turn/ parking signals had cut wires, missing bulbs.
Put new repop turn/ parking lights in. Went to test the lights and the turn signal lever is MIA? How did I miss that?
So thats on order. Should have just ordered a tilt column instead.

Ordered a new parking brake cable from the pedal to the frame. The rest of the system on the back was completely gone when I bought the car. (Big surprise) but I have new wilwood cables to fix that. Anyway I basically had to drop the driverside fender to put that in. Not fun.

Realized I put my rear coilovers in backwards and I would never be able to reach the adjustment knobs. Fixed that.

Decided to change the rear sway bar from, "Street" to party
Also pulled the upper A-arms and put the camber setting on party mode.

Finally started to finish up my exhaust last night.
I had just hung the porters off the headers as I was running it. Got everything mostly in place. I'll start knocking out a couple mounts tonight.
Tailpipes are on the long list. But ground pounders are on the short list now. Ordered some of those. I shouldn't need morning coffee with those. Nor will my neighbors.
