I had a bastard of a bearing stuck on a boogered shaft tonight.

A nice Posi-lock with the tri-hooks would of been a god send.

We didnt have any bearing pullers from work, so I borrowed one from another guy in town.

My take on Snap-On double hooked bearing pullers...they suck.
Im sure it would of worked great had it been the whole bearing but it was only the outter portion of the bearing was stuck on leaving about 1/4 inch to pull on.

I ended up using a file to unbooger the shaft and ease in the extraction. Probably not the best thing to do but I hit it with some emmory cloth when I was finished so Im fairly opptomistic it will hold up.

Anyone know of any good bearing pullers. Many for larger stuff. I need them for agricultural equipement.

Posilocks are great but they retail around $250

i just had the same problem yesterday, but i was able to rent one from an equipment rental for $15.00 that had the 3 hook deal. pulled out the remainder of the bearing out in like 10 seconds. i couldn't find that tool anywhere, except at the rental yard i mentioned. blew me away because how many of those rear ends did chevy make? i know i'm not the first guy who had to pull out a disintegrated bearing. you'd think the auto parts stores would have some kind of solution. i guess i'm sayin i feel your pain, wish i had something useful to tell you.

OTC makes a quality puller. But, the only bad thing about OTC is the "tip" in integrated on the screw. You have to replace the whole screw when you booger up the tip.

Posi lock looks like a good puller. I am going to look into those.
If you are going to use them often I would spend the money and get good ones.
