Ok.. So, even though this topic has been punished I can't seem to locate a thread containing the exact info I need. With a 454, th400, np205 combo in my 4wd crew cab which set of headers will give me the least headache.. Though keep in mind I don't mind a minor massaging for fit, I am on a budget. Thanks fellas.

1. Hooker Super Comp full length http://www.holley.com/types/Super Comp Full Length - 4WD Truck.asp
2. Sandersons, http://www.ebay.com/itm/Big-Block-C...pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr
Or 3. Doug Thorleys,

I will be using Thorleys on my Big Block installation, they seem to fit best to me, never had to ding a tube for anything

I'm using the Sanderson headers like those you linked and they fit great with zero modifications. There some pics on my photobucket page (see sig) or I can take specific pics if you'd like.

Sure Greg, pick the most expensive ones :waytogo:
Seriously though, thanks, I kinda expect to hear Thorleys more than the rest based upon "you get what you pay for"...
What part # are you using Greg?

Those seem like they would have the least amount of possible issues @ the xfer case just because their short. I'd love to see what you did w the plumbing down neer the tranny. What adaptor did you use at the collector?

I used the collectors that cam with the headers, they are made with a 45 degree angle to help point the tube where you want.

Hit the "build pics" link in my sig, there's more pics of the exhaust plumbing that the headers themselves. I'm running a 2.5" Y into a single 3" pipe down the drivers side to avoid tcase clutter (I always hated that on my previous dual set ups).

One thing I will add is that I bought the plain version (they are truly bare metal!) but was so impressed with the quality I regretted not buying the coated version. I did have mine Jet Hot coated later and ended up spending more total than if I had bought them coated from Sanderson.

I haven't bought a set yet, still hoping to score some good used ones as I have the last three sets I have purchased. Unless I can score some discontinued shorter set, I think they will end up being long tubes and I will use a heated oxygen sensor in the collector. I missed a set on E-bay a few days ago that sold for $200:doah:Now I guess we may be bidding against each other :haha:

I used Hedman Elites (I believe thats the ones with the 3/8in flange). Fit pretty good, I did grind a bit of the frame on both sides back a lil bit and raised the motor mounts a bit to make them easier to remove/install as I seen fit. But that could be hard with the motor in it. They probably would have fit ok, but man thats a tight squeeze for any header.

I almost splurged for coated ones, but if you scratch or dink them the coating is ruined, and they will rust. And if someone can show me a way to put a set of headers in a BB without one single scratch or dink, I would kick the girlfriend I dont have out and move them in. So I settled for regular painted ones and just do a repaint every so often when Im feeling ambitious
