Because I'm a dumbass, I dis-assembled my old doors and junked 'em before assembling the new doors.........I got new Taiwan pick-up doors and modified them for full convertible.........

Ok how the heck does the rear glass guide(the metal one) attach?

I think I can tell where the bottom attaches behind the trim panel, but the top doesn't seem to fit anywhere anyway........

there's no bracket anywhere in there, does it have anything to do with the latch?

(haven't looked at those yet)......................

any and all help is appreciated

pics too!

thanks!

Were your old doors trash?
I don't have mine handy here to take pics but in the next couple of days if you don't get the answers you need I could get to them.
By the way they are for sale if you want clean original doors.
All you need is to put your interior panels on them.
$150 for the pair.

I've just disassembled a set of doors to make half doors. On these ('79) doors, the bottom of the rear track does not have a mounting point. The top mounts through a hole on the rear of the door, near the vertical center of the door. It is up high enough to meet the rubber in the window frame. I can snap pics if needed.

Rufus.............nope old doors are long gone.......................Thanks for the links, it's a huge help....................

iceman................didn't want to hafta buy moor doors, but ya never know

doesn't help they're 500 miles away...............

Stevo.........................if you could get pics, that might help me fabricate

according to LMC, the guides(tracks) are the same for full convertible and half top/pickups

thanks to all y'all for your help on this matter

The guides are the same, I have the original full convertible doors and a set of post '76 doors.

Here are some pics, hope they help.

This is the mounting hole above the latch/lock mechanisms:

This is a driver's side rear guide/track from a bunch of different angles, specifically focusing on the mounting bracket:

well that mounting hole is higher than the top of a convert door..........

one of my guides the bracket goes up like that and the other one is different

I'll hafta get all my stuff out again but won't be able to do it 'til Sunday

brother's gettin' hitched tomorrow

Ok I went back to the links rufus posted................in the pics of the brackets the ones on the left are only for the fiberglass caps right? I've already fabbed those

the Z shaped ones on the right is what I think I need................shouldn't be too difficult

Also.....................I just went back and checked the LMC catalog and..........

the pickups and 76-up Blazers are the same

funny I looked at it 6 times and never noticed before

guess I shoulda done my homework 1st

Sooooooooooooooooooo

I'm thinkin that bracket at the top of the guide points up on a pickup and half-top and is turned around on a full convert.............

I'll be back

Yeah I was right.................the brackets welded to the glass guides are different between the pickup/half-top and the full convertible.

The guide is the same but the bracket is different

I have 1 good F/C guide for the passenger side.............

I just hafta find a driver's side guide for F/C or fab a Z-shaped bracket...

Thanks for all the info dudes!
