I had what might be a perfect solution for the shower at my cabin. It was done a couple decades ago with what I'm guessing is just mortar as a floor for the shower. Now it's getting cracked and chipping up. I'm thinking about getting some of thegood spray at home bed liner and spraying it on the ffloors and surround of the shower. If the stuff is as good as say, rhino liner, I think it would work out pretty good! It's just a cabin and we only go up there a few times a year. Its also 4 hours from home. So long term projects are a pain. Something like this that I could get done in a weekend could be just the ticket. Thoughts?

I think the bottoms of your feet will suffer as the bedliner is dang rough. And god forbid you fall over -- that stuff will take your skin off!

Ugh, nekkid and bedliner ... we're back into the "herculiner on your hootus" thing...

I think Dremu is right....maybe some of that "Flexi-Seal" spray on leak stopper liquid rubber coating stuff would be more foot and skin friendly than bedliner, which is rough as a cinder block..or Plasti-Kote ??..

I dont think this stuff would be bad. In the FAQ's it says,

Well the liner textures when sprayed even without any rubber additive. The fine is used 95% of the time because the appearance is much better. If you want the heavy crumb, it is great for Industrial, Commercial or Farm use. Very aggresive texture. All the pictures in the gallery are the fine rubber except the blue industrial equipment pictures and they are marked Heavy .

How do I choose the rubber? All rubber is black. It will darken your colored liners, usually blue , maroon, gray, green it is fine. You add it in seperately until it is dark enough for you. The fine rubber is like powdered sugar, very fine. The rubber crumb adds a heavy texture to your coating. Hard on the feet, but great for those farm or commercial trucks.

I did the shower stalls at the marina in gelcoat with course non skid in it.. like the front deck of a boat.. has held up perfect for about 4 yr's now.. perfect texture.... it's your feet, texture isn't a big deal, think griptape on a skateboard....

Thats not a bad idea either. The bed liner idea seems more fool proof for a fool like me. And it sprays through a drywall texture hopper which i already have. Im pretty well certain that im going to try it. What have i got to lose?

sure.. I would suggest a white/cream fo sure tho...

This is the color chart. I think i will do white. Although the light grey could look good.

whites work well cuz if it gets kinda skanky down the road, a bleach, soft scrub douche will get it spotless... grays can discolure with the bleach.. but grays also hide dirt better overall..

I know right? Its a struggle! I'll probably just play it safe and do white. I think im going to do this over independence day weekend.

yup, do it daily..... the only issue with gel, is it's a polyester, like fiberglass, so it uses MEKP hardener, and the working window can be small depending on percentage used... application speed can be important... I can walk anyone thru it tho...
