bed liner for interior

spongeidys said:
im in the process of doing this too, but from what i gathered it will take about 2 gallons to cover the entire interior of a k5?

*edit*

also have a question about what people used to not covering up the bolt holes for the seats and such
little twists of masking tape stuck in the holes.
* edit* I used 5 quarts and it just made it. Gallon and a half should be just about right.

Personally i think you making a mistake... Carpet + mud = no fun... Besides if you want to do it under the carpet, just bedline it, then leave it for a few weeks. if you dont like it then throw the carpet back in;)

I agree, plus unless you use glue, the carpet will slide all over the place. Ditch the carpet and be on the way to driving a 'real' truck!

well the only reason i say that is that the floor is by now means straight...especially around the peices we welded in....can i use maybe bondo to just level the edges off??? i dont think with the texture of the liner you wont notice much

another quicky.....we put two patches on the front bottom of quarters on both sides.....and we`re just gonna mud it a bit but not go to crazy....anyone having anything against maybe using the bedliner spray can as paint from the molding down on both sides?

ive done the herculiner on 2 blazers,

the 75, I went down to metal and grinded the crap out of the floor,

held up very well, 2 coats laid down

the 86, I just scufted the paint, I am at the shop right now and it will peel off if I want to.

I just bought another gallon, I will grind down the floor and I think I am going to spray it with a undercoating gun,

I wish I could shell out 600.00 bucks for a true spray in though

DONT BONDO YOUR FLOOR! Thats just stupid. Theres no reason to do it and when the vehicle flexes (even from every day driving) the bondo WILL crack.
The bedliner covers up patches amazingly well. I pop rivited my patches in places and if you put it on a lil thicker around the patch it is not noticable at all.

sorry they aint the best pics, i went wheelin on wednesday with the top off so it got all dirty. hopefully u get the idea.

foamy earplugs work great for filling holes, the bigger the hole, the more earplugs. we use them to mask off jets before full paint. ANd I used them on my truck to fill in the holes for the seats, it took about 2 to fill them and paint over them and pull them when you're done.
edit: X2 on the 2 coats, one light first coat and 1 heavy second coat, the first coat acts as a primer for the second coat.
