I know a lot on here roll bedliner down on the truck floors, wanted to know how it did for sound and heat. Was thinking of doing it to my k5 but wasn't sure if the how much different it will be from the carpet.

Also has anyone ever used bedliner on the frame. I have read many post on here about painting the frame and some ideas about bedliner but could not find one saying whether it was a good idea or not.

I pulled my carpet (wet, nasty, moldy) and ran with bare metal floors for a while. Then I rolled on some Herculiner. The Herc did quiet it down some but not nearly as much as carpet and insulation would. For me, it's not overly loud anyways. I haven't really noticed any heat issues yet but it hasn't really been hot weather here either.

I don't think I would use it on the frame. Good old Rustoleum works for that.

Thanks. I was just thinking it being harder and more durable it may last longer. I will probably paint the frame with a 2-part polyurathane.

I drove a truck one with the rubber in plae of the carpet. It had no insulation and that thing would get really hot on your feet. You really had to wear work boots but then you feet would warm up and sweat from the heat. But it was a diesel som that may be the difference in the heat.
