Plenty of companies make small patch panel replacements....complete bedsides are available too if you are feeling rich...

It would be smart to order up panels before you cut everything apart. Otherwise you are going to end up with holes larger than you can fill.

:usaflag:

ok thanks. my next question is were is a good place to order? im going to be putting a pretty big order.

i have heard good/bad things about lmc so im not to sure

body panles can be expensive to ship.

try your local paint/body supply shops. next town over from me we have a small chain store of family owned / run . thay do all paint / panels / tools related to auto repair on the body end of it.

i can order most anything next day or 2 delivered from main terminal.

and good rule of thumb on rust / dent repair. dont cut yet. get a repair panel thats bigger than what you think you need. you can always cut the extra off the repair panel.

in your case to much cut off could be bad if there is no panel that big. or you will wind up cutting up another rig / truck box for the section you need.

and body work cant be rushed . slow and steady will win the race and look the best in the end. and the more metal work you can do the less filler you will need and the better the paint job.

ok. i didnt cut the panels they were all ready cut out. but i will check local places

If you have the access, using a swb bedside is doable.

You just need to trim the front, otherwise their the same.

Just using the outter skin is a good option too.

i wish a could afford to do that unless you know of some were i can get them cheap

are bed sides held on with bolts or welded on? there is a couple yards around here that i will go check out. whats a fair price?

Completely bolted on aside from a small area where the 'c' pillar meets the bed floor in the back, couple tack welds there from the factory.

:dunno: No idea of what parts go for in your area but in comparison, new repro bedsides are over $500.00 bucks each.

Maybe just find some old iron that covers the areas needed for the patch.
Although, replacing the entire quarter will net out better results IMO.

thanks for the advice and great job on yours :waytogo:. im sure i will be asking you more questions in the near future
