You all know that I am restoring mine to stock...I am about ready to make a decision on what to do with the floor and bed.

I am going to put carpet down for sure...what I can't decide is whether or not to put down bedliner first or just spray paint it...would bedliner affect the way the carpet fits? I do intend to put down mass backing or sound sheild.

Would I benefit from the bedliner or would it be wasted expense?

What was your experience? Did it crack or peel, or just wasn't what you expected?

Some, yeah, but the real question is: why?

Bedliner doesn't help rust, it's heavier, more expensive, it isn't smooth, and if you're putting carpet over it I don't see any reason to do it. Some people like the appearance but again, you're putting carpet over it anyway.

That's why my vote is for paint.

High quality bedliner is good but once it gets dirty it stays dirty. If its a trail rig and you are not going to have carpet and you don't mind the dirt then go head and line it. Otherwise paint it!

Has anyone used bedliner on thier splash pans/lower body? I'm about to use Herculiner on my 85 Burb....finishing up a backyard spraybomb job that began just before it got cold...I'm using the liner mostly to hide my less-than-pro body work along the bottom quarters/rockers:smirk:. Low budget facelift on my workbeast...doesn't have to look show-ready just better than the multicolored mess it was...customers tend to get nervous when you pull up in a catastrophe on wheels.
