beefing a half ton\'s rear suspension?

Got a half ton pickup I want to tow my blazer with. I'll have brakes, the engine has ok grunt, and now what I need is to prevent the rear end sag. Load levelers? Air bags? Add Leafs? What? I need to keep this pretty cheap, under $200 would be nice.

I would think that helper springs would be the cheapest and most reliable.

yeah I've got the weight distributing hitch too and it IS awesome. Just not enough Oomph. My shocks are worn out and I'll need to change them out. That should help some. But I've been looking at Hellwig Load Levelers since the other reply and that may be what I do. Makes sense and isn't hella $$$$. Thanks for the tips guys!

What about grabbing a set of rear leaf springs from a 3/4 ton at the wreckers? Or getting an spring shop to add a heavier leaf to your packs? Probably still cheaper than buying the hellwigs.

Also, shocks don't carry any weight so don't replace them thinking that you truck will sit higher. If they are worn out then replacing them will make for a safer, more comfortable ride down the road but help at all in the saggy bottom end problem.
