I am planning a 14-bolt FF 8-lug for the rear of my 90' 1/2 ton Suburban by this summers end. I dont have the money to upgrade the front axle to a stronger one. Is there any way beef up the 10-bolt front axle so that the 35-15.50R15 Super Swampers dont blow out my front axle? I will be getting the 3/4 spindle to convert the front to 8-lug. Is it a no no if you weld the 10-bolt front axle?

you could go chromoly shafts and ctm ujoints and stuff but that is major money...by the time you do all that you could probably afford a dana 60

Just leave it open and convert to 8 lug. 35s are fine on a 10 bolt. If you lock it, you might break it, but I've beat the piss out of mine with 35s with no breakage.
