Hey all!

Been on Hiatus for awhile. I finally got around to renewing my membership.

I will soon be firing up the BB454 swap

Cheers.

i am going through the swap now. Putting my 454, th400, doubler and 1 tons into a 71. I am digging the project though, can't wait to get it all together! Any pics there?

Gas tanks good. No leaks!

This project is taking way too long. Started it in April averaging about one day a week to work on it. Doing the BBC and the doubler seemed like a good idea at the time. Now I'm not sure.

WOW :eek1: :eek1:

Looking good! My rig is in a sad state right now - just about ready to pull body of the frame to powdercoat the frame.

Yours looks awesome!

Your motor sits in there real well. What engine crossmember are you using and did you move the engine forward?

I used 73+ (like burt4x4) horns and crossmember. I positioned the motor mounts as far forward in the slots as possible. sits in thre nice and tight with no mods to the firewall. I did put a 1" body lift on for clearance at the th400 adapter and floor pan. I will still have to lower the transfer case some and then may see some interference at the firewall but it should be minimal.

What gears did you go with in those axles?

Nice blazer, welcome back.

The doubler is all installed with the exception of a second crossmember which I got last weekend from a member.

The front clip is also back on.

Is see that you got TH400 in your '71. Any chance you can take a picture of the shifter linkage at the transmission. Are you using the shifter on the column?

I'm using a Lokar cable kit, yes shifting from the column.

How well did the doubler fit with the 1" body lift? got any pics?

How about a picture at the connection at the transmission. How much was the cable kit?

The doubler fit just ok. I knotched some sheet metal underneith and angled the engine down for a 5 degree slope at the output of the transfer case. I have probably a 1/4" -3/8" clearance from anything hitting the floor.
