So it took 2 and 1/2 hours to raise it up using the lift. Guess you read the manual.

That was my first impression too........:haha:

Lol no shackle flip rear. Lift arm is on front spring shackle to give a "this is what it will look like even with the back". I need a shorter shackle in the rear. But with 33s compared to the 31s the body line should be fairly close to this. Ord springs for. the front will be here in 4 weeks

Here she is the day I picked it up

And here it is last week. Wheeled out the paint, carb cleaned and adjusted, and 35" tires filling up the wheel wells. I also have taken the roof rack off so it will fit in the garage since this photo.
Nothing major yet, just getting her reliable and clean.

No sir.

It will be a weekend cruiser during the summer. Probably go to Silver Lake sand dunes but thats about it.

I have wanted one Just like this one since I was 8 years old.

It took years for me to find one in this condition so it already has allot of sentimental value.

This was built in 1973 in Flint MI.
I was born in 1973 in Flint MI.
My Grandfather worked at the V8 engine plant in Flint when this truck was built, He could have seen this motor on the line.

I am on the fence about restoration.

Aside from the lift, dual exaust, and partime kit this truck is all original.

55000 miles on the odometer. With supporting oil change/maintenance documentation.
The tires in the first photo were put on it in 1982. They still had 14/32 tread.
All the vacuum and smog stuff is all still there and working.

My plan is to preserve restore what a lifted blazer would have been in the 70's

I want a nice looking "Hop in and Go" reliable blazer like I remember from my childhood.

I'm in 100% total agreement. Keep 'er as stock as possible. There little more beautiful than an original (or close to it) 4x4 truck. Don't get me wrong, I like rock crawlers somewhat. But, I'd keep this K5 all stock K5. That's what I am trying to do with mine.

For period correct get some white wagon wheels instead of the black. They would really make the look of that truck. :waytogo:
