My old 75 burb had a TH350 and it was the "K" case and it only had the 4 little screws for the tin inspection cover. So what gives there?

Are you sure it was a "K" case? I think the "K" with the aluminum cover which everybody refers to first came out around 1977-the same time the strut style transfer case brace came out.
