Bellypan mods

For some time I've needed a good belly pan on the bottom of my truggy, but I struggled coming up with idea's. I didn't like the idea of having a crossmember/bellypan combo..I wanted a pan that was lightweight but strong.

I settled with a stock crossmember with 1/4" steel plate added. I made the bellypan from 1/4", then welded angle to grab the edge of the stock crossmember. I added 1 3/4" Dom tubing to create a skeleton for strength.

I cut .188 rectangle, used that for brackets...5/8 bolts.

I thought I'd test it before adding more backets and add some steel to the front to smooth the belly..I'm very happy so far..

Have anything to add? I'm always looking for idea's...

Thanks! I want to weld a 1/2" plate to the open area on the side of the pan, then add 2 recessed bolts fastening it to the crossmember. I have some 4" 1/4" wall dom that will be used for the front, a nice roll for the front.

Id "dimple" hole it or drill holes in the bottom to cut weight and allow debris to fall out. Looks like a nice shovel to scoop up stuff. lol.

Its a good place to store sand. If hes ever loosing traction on ice just scoop some out.LOL

60-70 lbs..80-90 finished.

lol...holes?! Hell No! The ice will fall out..

Yeah I agree with badmix. Put some dimple holes in it. It will cut weight, also debris to fall out, and add some strength.
