Belt and alternator questions

Okay, so I took the belt off of my alternator that routes the power steering, compressor, and crank pulley. Well when I put it back on, it squeaks really bad now. I did not change the belt, I just took it off and put it back on, and suddenly ended up with squealing.

Well this evening I tried to turn my KC lights on while running my headlights and windshield wipers. Well everything dimmed down and the whole vehicle lost a lot of power. So I'm debating on whether the alternator is actually bad, or if I just need to change or tighten/loosen the belt slightly.

Can anyone give me any advice on this? Thanks in advance.

you running v belt or early serpentine or later serpentine?

draw down with lights turned on is a big thing,

that doesnt sound good

bad wire connection somewhere or something else bad it sounds like

hmm

check your belt for the correct tension first, then move on to testing the alternator if changing the tesnsion does not produce any results
