Fan to power steering on a 6.2 diesel so hydroboost brakes along with the accompanying power steering pump. Am I missing something? Parts books call for 2 different belts. I got both put the shorter one on. Not enough adjustment, is there a way to adjust the pump within the bracket for more belt adjustment?

Nope...not on my two 6.2's (1982 and 1985 vintage)..they dont give you much range of adjustment on the P/S bracket,so the belt size is critical...

I'm pretty sure my P/S belt size is a 15455 Dayco,(15/32" x 45-1/2") on the '82 with no A/C...
The '85 Burb with A/C takes a 15610 Dayco belt (15/32" x 61")..you might be able to use a 1" shorter belt than stock ,that way you'll have more adjustment left after they stretch ...

I hate the P/S adjustment bolt locations on my diesels--they "look" easy to get at,but suck..doesn't help the previous owners boogered up the bolt heads and the bottom bolt with the welded nut thing threatens to snap off if I unscrew it more than a few threads on both trucks..:(

Too many cookies will always make the belts fit tight.....
