I'm going to put on my new alternator on tomorrow and I was wondering about proper belt tension. I can't remember for sure the rule. Its something like for every foot, there should be 1/2 inch, or 1 inch of movement. Which is it???

I use the 1/2 inch per foot. A shop manual should have specs in it.
