Anyone know what size bolt thingies i need to screw into the ports on master cylinder so i can bleed it?

Cant remember the size off the top of my head but I have this kit that has everything you would need. Bought mine at NAPA for $6. Very hand to have. Hope that helps.

Thanks , I'll check that napa kit out. I went to autozone and got a couple of pipe plugs from the dorman help line. Guessed at 1/4 for the size , wrong , looks like the 5/8 size is what you need.

A new or rebuilt master cylinder should come with the bleeder tubes..some dont though..most GM trucks have a 1/2"x20 thread port on a 3/16" line for the front brakes and a 9/16"x20 thread port on a 1/4" line, for the rear brakes..those sizes are NOT what comes normally on those size brake lines..the 1/4" one normally would have 7/16"x20 thread and a 3/16" would have a 3/8x24 thread..

Bolts will fit the ports in the master--but dont use them, they will ruin the flare in the port if you tighten them enough to make an air tight seal...you could use the original lines to bleed it by taking them off at the junction block and use rubber hose on them back into the master ,I use a clip type clothes pin to hold the hoses submerged..

If you have a helper you can bleed it by having them cover both ports with their thumbs when the pedal is released and off them when you depress it..

Yea , I know not to bolts because of the threads , that's why i called them bolt thingies. My crappy napa master cylinder made in china came with plugs , should have kept them. My new made in usa ac delco came with nothing. Thanks for the sizes , now i know what to look for if i don't uses the napa thingie.

I might still have the fittings and tubes that came with my new master cylinder. If you want them I'll see if I can dig them out.

Little bit of brake line from a junker if you have one laying around.
