I spent a few hours making a Bench Harness for Flashing PCM's. I got the idea for making a Bench Harness surfing the internet. I used schematics to figure out the wiring. A PCM only needs four inputs; Battery +, Battery -, Switched on/off Battery +, and the Serial Data for flashing. The Serial Data is sent to the PCM using the Flash Scan V2 tool and a Laptop (not pictured) I made the Bench Harness adaptable, so I can flash different PCM using adapter cables. I'm now set up to flash either Vortec PCM's or LS PCM's. I built mine for less than $20.

If you don't have the time to build your own Bench Harness, EFI Connections will help you out. http://www.eficonnection.com/eficonnection/BenchtopProgramming.aspx

Since there so new there's not a lot of them out there. I can't beleive how many 7747 ECMs are still available but as they dry up the 411 will becoming more availabel.

It works, I had a chance today to use my 98 - 00 Vortec PCM bench harness. Nothing really special about the flash, but I was sure glad to see the pickup start and drive after flashing.:D
