Found these on craigslist, listed at $100. They are out of an 89 Silverado. Will they fit in a 80 Silverado that has the bench (bolt in)? Is this a good price?
no not bolt in. but 2-3 hrs max simple work will fit better than stockers.
i unbolted my bench brackets. bolted them to cab floor . got 1x1x1/8 square tube. made frame to fit on bench brackets. then welded to it.
took 88-up std buckets like you found and poped off lower brackets rivits. tossed them. then centered the seats. and welded some tubes in place. then welded 88-up sliders with seats on them to the frame. did this for both seats. then mounted a ex cop car console in middle for my needs. and you get to adjust each seat or complete bench setup.
only thing wrong is seats need to be tiped up around 5 degreses in frt. the internal safty for seat back flip catches 1/2 the time. have to fiddle with them to flip forward.
big bonus is the seats wound up 2-2.5" taller in the cab. makes a long leged guy like me much much more cummfy in the cab. legs are out better not bunched up. and see over hood much better.
will have to get pics. suprised i dont have them yet.
