I was wondering if I can heat up my steering arm with a torch and make it magically a raised steering arm for my trail truggy? NO STREET DRIVING!! I know I know Cheap ass!

I wouldn't. You can score raised steering arms for $50 give or take on here pretty regular. By heating up an arm that hot you will weaken it. Steering even on a trail truck is very important to your life. I have seen a stock steering arm snap on the trail before that wasn't heated and bent so I wouldn't try it and make it weaker.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!!!
Heating the arm will anneal it, making it softer. It will then bend under stress, and be very dangerous.
Don't do it!!
A lifted arm can be had for $50. What is the life of yourself and your passengers/innocent bystanders worth?

I would listen to these guys, there is no point in wasting your time heating and bending, and then it breaking. you might as well buy one, its worth it.

I think I jus stumbled across a raised arm in the for sale section for $20... I used to have 3 or 4 of them and that's how much I gave them away for.

They are cheap and bountifull, no need for modifications. :waytogo:

x4 or 7 or whatever...don't heat and bend.

one thing that hasn't been mentioned is that you'd not only be weakening it, but also wouldn't get the proper geometry. a raised arm is actually a longer piece of metal since it has to make the bigger vertical distance while maintaining stock horizontal distance.

i can be cheap, but steering is not a place to scrimp. on the other hand, if you save that $50, use the heated/bent arm and roll the truck, you can put that money towards installing a 14bolt ff on your new motorized wheelchair. better parking, too.

Hey Vortec I like the way think!!:D Iwonder if I could pop wheelies in that sweet new wheelchair??.Then I could lift the scooter and start the viscious cycle all over again!!!!
