Im wanting to build a sort of roll bar, or a headache rack if you will. but I want it to look more like roll bars. I have pipe in sch40 I think.

The plan is to use 4" angle that I have to cap my bed rails. Then a main hoop of 3" pipe vertical just behind the cab and another simular hoop in an angle. I was originally going to just buy 4 90's and make it square but I dont think I would like it as much as a bend that more closely followed the cab shape. The bars would only go to the bed rail not to the floor.

So has anyone bent sch 40 pipe? Does it bend fairly clean or does it try to kink?

The front bumper on my 77 is drill pipe. I had to notch it and heat it bright red. I dont kow what the sch would be on it but its TOUGH.

my experience is with a regular pipe bender it starts to flatten at less than 45 degrees. You could buy 90's then bent the smaller angles in the straight to follow the lines.
