bent crossmember...

I just picked up an 85 blazer 350 sm465hydro np208. it is stock ride height and the trans crossmember is real low. the guy i bought it off of hit something with it and shoved in back alot. from looking at it the only difference i can see between that crossmember and the one on my 89 k5 (350 350 208) is one has has a "drop" on one side the other has a "drop" on both sides anyone know if an auto crossmember will swap in no problem? since i cant find one with the dual "drop". thanks

I just went through this exersize. 88-91 used the dual drop and anything 87 and below will not bolt up to the frame. I have a 91 K5 and I got a 82 and an 85 crossmember and neither fit. I fianlly found one out of an 89 and another out of a 91 that fit. I still have the 91 crossmember if you want it. i am running a 700r4 trns and a NP208 t case. in a 89 you may have a NP208 or a 241. Make sure you keep the adaptor with the one peice mount. If you need an adaptor for your 89, i have one of those too
