Took the Jimmy in for a "strange" vibration. It felt like the torque converter gone bad. My flywheel is bent. How can this happen? Any thoughts?

Don't know, my car had a bent *flexplate*.
Anyways, it seems to be fairly "common" for GM's to have flexplate problems (bent or broken) but since I don't mess with lesser makes (hehe) I have no idea if it's an isolated GM problem.

I had that trouble for quite a while on my truck before I finally figured it out. Many, many, mechanics over the years failed to solve it, either.
I ended up replacing the flexplate. I've got a write-up on it here: Flexplate replacement

/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif Common problem!! Replace it and next time you pull your motor check it for cracks. I bet if its bent then its broke!! Good luck its really not hard to replace just time consuming.
