Well, I think this is the steering link anyway..

Just bought my 1988 GMC Jimmy, 4-5 inches of lift, 35(worn)x12.50 pro comp MTs, Wanted to get some opinions on what i should do with this, Is it supposed to be bent? I wouldnt think so, And how much would it cost to fix? Couldnt find one on JCwhitney =(

Yes, Im a n00b :D Truck needs ALOT of TLC, This just might add to the cost, If its okay i would like to leave it for a while, At least untill its time for new tires(few months).. Will this cause anything else to wear besides the tires?

Thanks!!!

That is the tie rod. You could get a stocker or get an aftermarket one.
The aftermarket ones are generally stronger.

Mine is from SKY

Thanks, Ill check em out, But what do you suggest about driving it the way it is? And would turning the steering wheel while parked do that? I think the previous owner hit something because if you look close youll notice the stabilizer(?) is dented as well

looks like the po hit a big f'n rock. i might have a stock tie-rod lyin around, ill check.

ur alignment is most likely off killing your tires, might cause more wear on the balljoints, but i dont know.

nah lift doesnt matter with tie-rod, only draglink is effected by the lift.

post up some more pics of your rig so ppl can see what your startin with. we love pics :)

your alignment will be off and cause wear on your tires and steering parts.
you might be able to get one cheap at the salvage yard.
also throw the dual stabilizer in the trash and go to 4wheelparts or somewhere of the sort and pick up a stock aplication aftermarket one.
there like $35 i threw one on mine yesterday.

why would he need to get rid of a dual stablizer and spend money to get a single? i had dual on my k5 for a long time until i went hydro-assist, never had any problems. hes tight on money, he should jus keep what hes got until he upgrades later.

Yeah, Tight on money, My income is about 165 a month =P, Im 16 and just getting a mix of jobs (Lawn care- 65 a month, Start cleaning at a auto shop soon every other weekend for 12.50 an hour, 4 hours every other saturday), So yeah, Very tight on money, Its gonna take me a while to get it going

Pics to come soon!
