we have a k5 blazer with a 12in lift and 44in tsl boggers, we are looking for a good set of 37-39 size street tire to put on it while the boggers are off...theres just so many options out there i was wondering what people here suggest...

thanks
Dan

37 inch hummer radials or the 38 inch military michelins, 11.00r16 or 325/85/16 or something like that. theres also 41 inch michelins but for a 20 inch wheel.

You always have the Dick Cepeks FC II's but i'm not sure how good they are. Sure they're a decent tire for street driving

I had the 39.5 baja radials but they sucked in rain. it didn't take much to spin them

If your looking just for something to drive around on then go with the 37 AT's. If your looking for somethin you can still wheel with when you drive to the trail then its either MTRs or michelins

If they are just a street tire, I would recommend the Hummer take offs. 37x12.50x16.5's and they can generally be had for cheap.

yea i am looking into the hummer h1 and hummer 37s, just need to figure out whats the best way to mount them on my setup, does anyone know how much of a spacer i would need for front and back...

Just run them on a stock 16.5" wheel. My buddy has them on 16.5x6" wheels, let me go fin a pic.

Sorry about being low quality cell phone pics, but here are 37" hummer tires on stock GM wheels.

Yeah, and you can find old 16.5's for next to nothing as well. I wanted a set the other day, so I started cruising Craigslist, and before I knew it, I had 10 of them for about $50.

I dont know if this is just my set or not but my 36in bias plys actually only measure to be about 34.5 inches at full preasure. I dont know about the radials but they look a little in the picture.

My room mate has 36x12.50x16.5" bias ply Hummer tires on his Highboy. They are the exact same size as my 36x12.50x16.5" Super Swamper TSL's (both mounted on 16.5x9.75" white spokes). John's 37" radial Hummer tires (the ones in the pictures), are definitely taller than my Swamper's.

i just checked ebay and craigslist but no luck for my area, but ill call the local junkyards then...

Where do you guys find these hummer tires? I'm from west virginia and hadn't heard of anybody running these tires until I joined this forum.

Ebay, military surplus sites, CL, here (occasionally), etc.

The 11.00R16 and 325/85R16 Michelins have excellent street manors for their size. That said good luck finding a set lately.

I said my bias ply 36x12.50x16.5" Super Swamper TSL's were the same height as my room mate's bias ply 36x12.50x16.5" Goodyear Hummer tires. I was wrong. I had been using his tire for a spare on the front of my K30, and hadn't noticed any difference, but today when I was putting mine back on I compared them.

Of course the measurement is a little higher than it really is, because it is tilting up from the other side laying on the slightly shorter Hummer tire.

. . . . and this tire is just a little taller than the measurement, because the block is tilting down from sitting on the slightly taller Swamper.
