Best appearance upgrades

Just paint everything really well.

If you want to get fancy and make it last, haul your whole suspension, bare axle tubes, crossmember, and anything else you want down to the powder coat shop and have them coat everything with a desired color.

About the only thing that then looks good as chromed would be the shocks. A painted undercarriage and chromed shocks looks nice together, but don't get carried away with any more chroming than that.

As ever, excellent advise on a subject you know nothing about.:thumb:

my personal best appearance upgrade is cleanliness. a clean rig is a happy rig, no leaks or oily surfaces. also i think the best thing i did was flat black my frame rails and xmembers and silvered my tranny with black pan, silver bolts. then semi gloss black on the axles with silver bolts. silver rod ends and will get stainless brake lines soon. i think it looks good.

i really love the look for fresh white shocks when they are first installed. however, im never able to keep them white after long :) wonder how much it would cost to have the axle powdercoated

Whats a good color to paint shackles and other underbody trucks if I have a midnight blue paint job? I was thinking black and a bright blue color for components? Anyone have any colors in mind?

Let's thank our up-right living gods for the brilliant invention of KRYLON in black!!!

Only thing better is Hammerrite Black ... It covers bling bling chrome and doesn't flake off showing that nasty stuff. I hate to admit it but i put some chrome valve stem caps on my rims. The little silver spots going round and round in my muddy rims looks cool. I wipe then off and polish religiously

I have to completely agree with this. that undercarriage looks great. clean is sweet. stainless is cooler then chrome because its more functional. if you painted everything black and kept it clean you would get more looks and compliments then if you chromed everything. and ran yellow shock boots.

Nice.................I am jealous. Is that a spray can job? I have used that spray on mud before but it never came out that good. Is that that new POR1012 stuff?
