Looking for something to fit my D60/14b setup on an 83 Jimmy. I have a set of hummer wheels and tires but will save them for planned off road outings. Trying to find a decent combo for daily driving. I am totally open to wheel size (minus donk wheels :-) ). Thinking 35" overall and will need enough backspace to clear front calipers.

Best bang for your buck is actually something good and generally more expensive. With better tires like a nitto or toyo youll get more miles per dollar relatively. This is assuming retail pricing like you would get at a store.
First what kind of daily driving to you do? Youll have no issue finding a suitable tire for a 17" wheel. 16.5" will have fewer options.

Just commuting 20 miles to and from a jobsite each day. Definitely not thinking about 16.5" I know that is really limited for tires.

Call firestone and see what prices they have for what you want

otherwise online. Been going through bbwheels

I bought a set of black steel wheels from discount tire in a 17x9 for $79/ea brand new. For tires, there’s a thousand threads on that. I’m partial to BFG and Nitto. Had great luck with either.
