Probably opening a can of worms here...

I ran a 9.89 1/8th mile. Blazer came out of the hole great but would stumble or fall off between 5-6k RPMs. Even when it didn't stumble it just didn't pull hard at all above 4500 RPMs. I suspect my stock smogger '76 Q-Jet is the culprit. My builder suggested an Edelbrock Thunder Series 650. I go in for a my 1000 mile service soon and I will ask about adjusting the spark curve as well.

383
Edelbrock Perf Heads
Perf RPM Intake 1500-6500 PRM Range
Crane Z Cam 218/230 1500-5800 RPM Range
New Stock Replacement HEI with hot coil
Flowtech Headers
2.5 Exhaust w/ Turbo Mufflers
TCI 700R4, 2400 Stall Breakaway Converter
Eaton Posi 4.11 Gears
295/50/15 BFG Radials

Thanks,
Scott
