parts were not in the system. I went out and found choice parts were siting inside the cab. grabed them and they gave me adeal since it was not inventoried.

I went to the local Pick-n-Pull when I lived in Reno and found 5 Pontiac Rally II rims off of a Trans Am and a passenger side fender for my 72 Ventura II on an Olds Omega.

I carried everything up front expecting to fork out at least $100, the lady checked it all out and told me $25. My hand couldn't pull the money out any faster. Two minutes later, I was leaving the parking lot laughing myself silly.........................sillier anyway.

I've gotten a few good junkyard scores over the years....

D60 Front - $110
D70 Rear - $80
14FF Rear - $100
NV4500 - $750
'04 6.0L LQ4 - $1000
various NP205s - $100
Complete K30, crossover, locked 14FF, 39.5 boggers- $1100
Warn XD 8000 - $40

Most people here will think I'm nuts (which is probably correct), but my best junkyard experience was when I came across a Celebrity Eurosport VR in the local pick n pull. To a Chevy Celeb fan (yes, there are others), that's like a truck guy finding 3 or 4 D60's all at once. I got everything from the car that made it a VR edition, and spent around $200 total.

D60HD fully rebuilt under a rolled truck I believe locked and walked out with it for 75 bucks.

91 chevy suburban 4" lift on 315/75/16, fresh motor and trans 500 bucks (my new bus) Cleaned TBI and fired right up. ;)

These are my best.

drw 60 frt = 60 bucks
th400 k case + fig 8 205 = 125 bucks
and these were from same truck . yard man fliped truck over for me and pulled and loaded all items with loader free. :eek1:

nv4500 2wd with shifter = 75 bucks

and few others over the years. just my best few listed.

a set of d60 locking hubs from a ford ttb d50... oh and a chrome 205 shifter.

were barebones at the hards here.

1976 GMC Casa Grande camper

Ol' boy told me it was a pick up that they welded together to make a camper...?

I was 'Oh reaaallllllly well in that case ahhhh how much you askin for that scabbed together thing?'

'Oh... $50 I reckon.'

Felt kinda bad for doing him like that seeing as how I knew what it was but oh well...

working at a junk yard still

we had a toyota car dont remember what model but it was inline 6 and hatch back rear wheel drive. anyway it was our tool car had tool boxes in it cutting torch ect.

one day we decided to retire it because a nice nissan pickup came in that ran and drove. o we got everything swapped into the truck built some stuff like a rack and things to hold our tool boxes.

We figured a fitting end to the toyota would be to rally/demolision derby it through the yard until it died. Boss said sounds fun dont get hurt.

We crashed and jumped and slide sideways into cars, opend doors in the crush line and drove through the open doors. we tried and tried to kill that car just couldnt do it. But we had a hell of a lot of fun that day.

side note the nissan pickup died a month later so we went back to using the toyota car. never could kill that car.

pulled a super nice interior dash door panels seat carpet kick panels everything out of a pickup for my truck came to a grand total of 30 bucks

Everything had been recently redone reupholstered seat new dash pad I think the door panels were old but super nice nearly brand new carpet. An old rv thing had kind of fallen on this truck and kept it in the shade all day long.

second battery tray for the suburban, set of rear seat belts for the 97 crown victoria, ashtray drawer and assorted interior parts for the crown victoria. upper c-pillar covers and stack of other interior parts for the crown victoria. $30.

radiator mounts and radiator cover for the k10, few interior pieces for the k10 and pockets stuffed with fuses for $10.

4 alloy rims from a 99 Town Car with 4 michelin tires with excellent tread for $230. pretty good considering each of those tires retails for $99.

$900 dollar '76 FJ55 with a rusty roof. Otherwise very clean. Got every body part I needed for my '73 + a nice interior and factory A.C. (and had $1500 worth of other parts sold within 36 hours)

Pair of axles and transfercase from an Fj60 for around $300

Completely stock '88 blazer with 65,000 miles and decent paint for $1200. Fuel injected with factory 4 speed manual tranny - I had never even seen one before (still haven't seen another). No 700r4 problems for me!
Still thrashing this one...

It was at a swap meet, but I bought an NV4500 w/shifter and boot, 241tcase w shifter, boots, & linkage, hydraulics, driveshafts, crossmember, bellhousing and flywheel for $300. We put them in a '92 Suburban that lost it's 700R4. It was a straight across bolt on.

Black Betty's Co-driver is by far the best thing I've ever found at pull a part. Next time you see one of those 80's vans with a port hole window be sure to open the doors, you never know what you'll find in there...

Here's one of our pics from SETTC

All too true. Was with friends at a yard, he opened up the doors on one, and found a really nice Wakeboard!

$25!!

My friend found a 4" lift kit for his WJ? (Grand Cherokee) think he paid $50 for all of it.
