Hey Everyone,
I have decided to go with a body mount configuration for my sliders (seems that welding/bolting to the frame is just a bad idea without a cage) but I can't seem to find any pictures online where someone has done this with an older K5. There are tons of pictures with the newer K5's and the nice body rip but the underside of the body on my 73 looks nothing like the pictures from the newer ones.

So where is the best place to mount the sliders on the body of an older K5? Pictures would be awesome is anyone has some.

Thanks,
John

Do a search for colbystephens, he has an early blazer that he did sliders on but he also did a cage so i'm not sure if he tied everything together or not.

Wow, looks like he cut the rockers out and welded the sliders straight to the body. I am hoping to not have to do that, hahahahaha.

Thats what I did, its super easy.

I started with a 73 so it makes it way easy with the rocker boxes other trucks don't have.

Only pics I could find.

These help up for years. I beat on my truck pretty hard never had a problem with these at all

Dang, I really don't want to have to weld to the body. What do you guys think about bolting to the pinch seam like the XJ guys do?

That's basicly how my running boards were put onto my Burb with a bracket in the middle to help support the length of them.........mine were curved from using them like sliders with the stock suspension! They held up great.......:D
