I called my local tuner to have him tune my 5.3 pcm for the manual transmission that I recently installed in place of a 4l60e. He has done all of my tuning in the past. He seems to believe that the right way to do this is to simply delete all the trouble codes that are related to the automatic transmission..
I'm not buying it, others say a manual transmission segment must be used to get certain parameters right. I know nothing about tuning so I need to find a reliable tuner that I can mail my pcm to if need be.
The whole problem is:
5.3s never came with a manual transmission. So a 4.8/6.0 tune would have to be used and adjusted to the 5.3 parameters. OR graft a manual trans segment into my existing 5.3 tune.
The blazer seems to run find, it flat out gets it. My only concern is the idle acts funny at times and when the motor ramps down when I disengage the clutch.
Anyone have any experience with this or know someone that is willing to do it right?
