GM make a washer with a rubber center. Fit gen 1 drain plugs.

OEM was a white plastic material if recollection is right ..
I'd use a soft plastic type if it dripps.

NAPA or parts store should have loose gadgets.... Maybe even the hardware store in the bolts / misc boxes...

I've been using copper washers. I've seen aluminum washers on other makes from the factory, but copper is easy to find. Just a washer, but with the right dimensions, they work fine. And last I checked were dirt cheap for more than you'd ever need. No clue now though.
The plastic ones are a very bad gamble - they are known for possible cracking and/or actually melting under hard use like endurance racing.
I realize that’s probably not what ya are doing with your truck but the copper or metal with a rubber inner coating is a much better choice for guarding such valuable engine life blood.

Got a drain plug leak myself. My research has led me to the gm rubber coated ones. Or some fiber ones that come on fumoto drains. I wont be able to test this until my arm is healed up though.
My 78 K5 had the original plastic washer on it. I know this because it still had blue paint on the edge of the plastic washer. It was brittle and cracking and so I replaced it. I used a plastic washer from NAPA.
I used the 'HELP' ones that you find at your local parts store. 3 pack, white nylon. Worked good.

I always just used random plastic washers or copper washers I had in my spare fastener pile.
Been doing that for 20 years on my 1993 k1500 and it's leaked everywhere but the drain plug. I think replacing it often is more important then what kind is used.
