Best panel adhesive?

After chatting with at least two and half people, I'm going to try to do the following to patch my floor:

1. Cut patch to fit and prep area
2. Use adhesive to glue patch in place and secure with sheet metal screws
3. Grind off screw heads
4. Continue floor frolicking as before.

It sounds like this should work well, as this is not a support beam or anything like that: it doesn't get the seats bolted in or anything like that.

So, in anyone and everyone's experience, is there a preferred type of adhesive everyone uses? What anyone likes? I have local stores with access to the Fusor stuff and 3m...and can certainly order more if needed.

Yup, I know very well. I use 3M 8115, 2 part epoxy, that needs to be mixed with a gun. Strongest stuff I've used.for any panel bonding.
 
it's non catalyzed, so not even a comparison... but in a pinch, sure, it could work..
 
Yes, there are many type of guns. I have a caulking gun type with the trigger. It was the least expensive from my body shop supply store.
But my bro has a air operated one that's sweet.

Be ready, the stuff is expensive, and buy extra tips.
 
I used the SEM Patch Panel Adhesive and nothing has falling off yet... I only did one section with it, and have not noticed anything weird with it last time I looked.

SEM 39897 - Patch Panel Adhesive 7 oz cartridge, and YES it does require a specialized gun for it.

I finally bought the 3M stuff, and I'll be using that for some small floor patches I have to make.

But I've been looking all over the web, and I see places about replacing whole quarter panels and the like, but has anyone seen (or does anyone know) how to do a small section?

I'd be happy to take a pic of what I'm talking about on my K. It's a bizarro spot up high on the cab, but I won't be able to get it registered until it's done, so it's gotta be done soon,among some other places.

What do I do, cut out the cancer, bend in the surface the new patch will adhere to, glue as per directions everywhere, then complete as directed (bondo, etc.)? I'm drawing a blank about how to get the new patch to adhere to old metal, and I haven't even started to bend what I need into the shape I'll need on an upper cab corner.

Oh yeah: I have a large sheet of galvanized I'll use for the floor. Should I NOT use that for bodywork repairs, what few I have?

Galv should be fine if your not welding it in. Welding galv is nasty for the lungs. I would still prime and paint it.
 
Jeebus, that was fast. Yeah, I'll definitely be priming and painting. I have a number of stupid small areas to patch, and no match to either side, so it's not like "hey, now do it again on the left!"
