Shopping for a new/used engine. Decided I am not up to the task of rebuilding my current engine so I would prefer to just to get a long block or a short block with rotating assembly in it.
Anyone know of the best place to get a crate engine?

I am trying to find stuff locally so I dont have to pay shipping but I am in a small town so its hard to find anything.
TIA

For 350's, it's hard to beat the GM crate motors. Cheap, decent warranty, all new parts -- no rebuilt stuff.

Run by your local GM dealer and see what they can offer you.

when I last look... over 10yrs ago now. The GM 350 Goodwrench specials could be had for the cheap for about 1.2K. They are 4 bolt mains and the blocks are made in mexico. At least 10 yrs ago. Not sure about now. Any updates? If I wanted to go with a new motor this is what I would buy.

Looks like they are all about $1800 and up now. Just dont have that kind of money right now. Might have to just look for something that is used and running good.

Seems like you might be limited by your area but, the tbi you bought from me came off a van with a fairly fresh gm 4bolt that I picked up real cheap for my burb. You know the story, bad tranny and he didnt want to fix. It was found on craigslist and has been excellent. Just search everyday and be ready to haul a$$:D. Hope you find one soon and cheap.

Thanks I am going to look while I am in Denver next week. I am hoping my uncle has something for me to use but I dont know yet. I am going to start working through the wiring on the TBI this weekend and see what all I can get done, wish me luck!

I bought mine in Las Vegas 8 years ago the engine was made in Mexico the parts guy told me it will be 4 bolt main (It was):D

I have had no issues with the engine itself It was like 1,200 then.I still feels as good as new.
