I have decided to go with a 700R4 behind a FI 454 (I was going w/ a 400 but have changed my mind).

Since the factory 700R4's were marginal behind a 350 I need to know what mfg. builds (or rebuilds) a 700 that can handle approx. 400 h.p./450 ft.lbs. torque. I know I can get on the internet and find all of this but I don't know them and I trust the CK5 brotherhood to guide me in the right direction.

Also, if you have pricing, please share that. TIA.

jet performance sells beefed up 4l80e trannys with stand alone computer to run it. My dad put one behind the 454 in his duelly after going through 2 700r4's. He hasn't had any problems with the 4l80e.

Gosh how many of these do we need! Ahhhh. I'm guilty of starting a few, months ago so have you searched yet? I know we tell a lot of people to search but theres a reason for that, because it works!

There website is not up but I know in California alot of racers and hard core wheelers use bulletprooftransmissions.

There number is 559-994-0229.

I am bias because they are building a 350 for me that will eat my "potential" 400hp.

I have no idea what they charge but they were recommended to me by a friend with 500hp running 38's.

How many miles on the Monster trans.? What size tires, gears, eng. mods. etc. What kind of wheeling do you do? That sounds like a good deal, did you get a new lock up converter too?

I've only got about 1000 miles on it, don't wheel it that often. I run 36" Irok tires and 4.88 gears, 350 tuned port. Mostly just trails and mud for wheeling. Yeap the converter was included also, your choise of where it locks up. I went one step up from stock for lock up.
