Best plug wires

As of now, I have an MSD 6A with 13 year old 8mm suburban wires (they were my dad's used ones when I was in a pinch). I've run them for about 5 years and I know they are shot. Any suggestions?

I run MSD 8.5mm Super Conductor wires. I like them. I did notice some improvement when I switch from Borg Warner Nascar Selects to them, but nothing to really write home about. They are a good wire and I have been running them for awhile without any problems. Pricey, but I think they are probably worth it.
 
I run the accel 300+ 8.8 mm race wires and I like them. I have had them get real colse toe my headers and they have not melted yet.
 
MSD wires are nice but pricey. I have had great luck with Taylor plug wires from Summit. They are inexpensive and last a long time!
 
just remember not to get the Solidcore MSD wires. as there is a warning on the MSD box that states "do not use with solid core wires"
 
I have taylor wires aswell and one boot damn near sits on the stupid cheap headers I got and has yet to melt I am very suprised
 
I just bought some Moroso Ultra 40's for my rig..
They're 8.65mm Kevlar core with a fiberglass wire sleeve...

I got these because of the heat from my headers...were killing wires...
but they are very pricey.. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

i also have the msd box and went from the i think the nascar ones they were to the msd 8 mm spiralcore wires.the nascar ones melted on my headers and were arcing out.i jave had the msd for about a year and the headers havnt even discolored them yet,also i have gotten oil on them and just wipes clean.a little better performance over stock.
 
Best bang for your buck seems to be Taylor SpiroPro wires. I run them. I think a year and a half ago I paid $43 for them. They don't stick to the plugs or the cap. All I ever put dielectric grease on are the actual connectors.

They get dirty real easy but you can wipe them off with bathroom cleaner.

I have one sitting on my intake and the wire loom has melted but the wire hasn't. I have a boot that rubs against the #4 header tube and it's burnt... but I did it with my soldering gun one day when installing my electric fuel pump. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

As long as Taylor continues to make wires that good I'll always be buying them in the future.
 
I like Taylor Spyro Pro too. I think they are the way to go. Half the price of MSD and just as good in my opinion. They stand up to heat and work good around headers and last a long time. No stereo noise either.
I see no reason to pay 80.00+ for wires unless you are running some way hot ingniton box/coil (MSD 6 is not hot) and sky high comp ratio.
I run them in both of my Hot Rods
 
I guess I am going to go against the grain.....the only set of Taylor's that I had were junk. It was not uncommon to drop a cylinder and/or misfire with the Taylors. It was a good thing I got them as a birthday gift.

I like Accel 8.8's or MSD Superconductors. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
