best prices on toolboxes

Craftsman seems to discontinue certain boxes and color schemes from time to time. I got my boxes 50% off last year. I had to drive about an hour to pick them up, but it was totally worth it.

How long ago was that?

6-7 years ago ??? :dunno:

BTW.... I like ( and own ) a set of the largest boxes Northern tools sells in the wrinkle black powder coating....I think they are Torin brand.

Great boxes for the money...ball bearing slides, with double slides on the larger drawers....I'm not sure that Northern carries that same exact set anymore..

I have owned a set of Snappy "tamale wagon" boxes before...
For my money,, I would buy the Northern boxes again in a heartbeat...:thumb:

A toolbox is something you'll have the rest of your life so get one you like. I got seven. Three are craftsman/Waterloo. My employer just got the 299 one and I love it big drawer s for long tools. I'm trying to resist duty I'm going to cave. I'm sure there made in China but what isn't. You know like Milwaukee tool made in China and still overpriced.

IMO you can't beat harbor freights price to quality on their red boxes.

Agreed. The red ones have the roller drawers, and the one I have is heavy and tough. Get an equivalent box from Snap-on or Matco and it's several times the price with minimal increase in quality.
