It's not so much that I love the old stuff....I just kinda lost track of what was "hot" when I stopped being around it everyday. I know that companies like Alpine kinda went the "cheap route" on their products after building flagship products like the 7909 (great showpiece product, but I doubt they made much $$$ on it!)...and started using their reputation to sell LOTS of lower quality mass-produced stuff.
I think that same thing has happened to some other audio companies as well.....a/d/s was bought out by Orion....and I don't think they've been building TANKS like the old PQ20 for a long time. Thankfully there's a place like e-Bay where I can still get the stuff I really WANT.
