I'm going to be stripping the paint and rust from my bed floor in preparation for bedliner and wondered if anyone found a better way than these resin discs?

I've also got one of those spot sand blaster guns, but it's not great for big surfaces.

chemical wise, ya can't touch original aircraft stripper..

abrasive wise, eh, lots of options from 60 grit on a DA to flapdiscs to flatpadding, blasting, etc...

generally, I'll give it a "cut" with something nasty, then finish it off for zinc chromate prep with something in the 60, 80 grit range..

I run ALOT of 7" grinding implements on my big Makita.. any of the "green corp" line are topnotch..

stuff like this http://shopping.msn.com/prices/3m-1...ext=itemname:3m-1922-green-corps-grind-disc-7

or 8" flatpad hookit stuff...

I also use TONS of Rolocs

For chemical strippers, ryoken's right, Aircraft Stripper can't be beat, but use the original, not the "low odor" stuff. It doesn't work quite as well as the stinky stuff does.

thanks, I was trying to stay away from chemicals cause I always seem to spill them on my skin and that don't feel so pleasant.

I'll try the discs and see how it goes and resort to the chemicals as a backup. I wonder if I can even buy the aircraft stuff in CA? I can't even buy lacquer paint locally anymore.

Aircraft stripper just as ryoken said, there is nothing better.

I used to buy it in gallon containers at OSH.

ditto on the Aircraft stripper, but use in a well ventilated area, and good rubber gloves, I think that stuff has Methylene chloride in it, and I think its a carcinogen, plus very strong, It will burn your skin.
Wash the stuff off the vehicle with Laquer thinner. It really works good.
