Hello, just seein what yall think is the most comfortable suspention setup for my 89 k5? i have a cummins 4bt in it so its about as heavy as a bigblick blazer. I want it to be about 2 or 3" higher than stock, i ride a lot on the hwy so i want it to be smooth. My offroading is limited to light trails and washboard dirt roads right now it is bumpy as heck, and on the washboard roads it slides and bumps all over the place.... I dont need anykind of hy flex suspention or anything just mainly looking for somthing that will be more comfortable to ride around in plus i plan on taking this truck across the country for like a road trip truck.... ive alreay dynamatted the interior and plan on putting 3rd gen dodge ram seats in it for interior comforts now if i can just get this bumpy ride smoothed out....

Im using Rough Country 2" springs, with Bilstein 5150 shocks and ORDs greaseable shackle bolts and HD shackles. I love the ride on the street, its just a tad soft for hardcore wheeling though. I can stuff my tires on aggresive rocks/terrain.

thanks... yeah i kindof want it to be soft... i realy dont like that hard hit or jaring the suspension gives when you hit a pot hole or washed out road, id like it to more or less float over them.... dont know if i realy want my suspension to shove my front diff into my oil pan on a big rock either though!!!

In the process of putting a 3" tuff country lift and ORD shackle flip on mine. But I'm having to fix all the PO stuff right now, so its going to be a little while before its back on the road.

i like my rough country springs.i got a small block and a huge bumper that probly weighs in as much as your 4bt.no matter what you go with,id get your bumpstops placed where it bottoms out the suspension before it hits your oil pan.lol

good call on the bumpo stops... i been overlooking that little detail.... i think ill ive the rough country springs a try.. why do all you guys always do the shakle flip or oru shackles on the rear instead of just more arched springs? do you get a better ride or more articulatoin?

shackle flip gives you 4 inch lift without changing from your stock springs in the rear.so you can do a flip and add whatever lift spring without having really stiff springs that dont articulate real well.the front will be a standard 4 inch lift spring to match the flip.
