I picked up a set of oxy/ace bottles, hoses, & gauges this weekend from a buddy of mine. I need to get a torch/welding head now and need to get something that is good price to value. I don't want ultra cheap but these don't need to be top of the line. Who makes a good set for a good price?

Nevermind. My buddy found a older Victor torchhead setup he gave to me too. I just have to get it freshened up and the tanks filled and I am good to go. :D

Hard to beat a Victor, I have 2 of them. One an old large (forget the model) Journeyman (mostly good for cutting or welding heavy stuff) and another much smaller one (Victor Jr? Mostly for gas welding, but can cut as heavy as I'll ever need). Nice tools and you would have to work pretty hard to ruin one bad enough it couldn't be rebuilt. From what I've seen, growing up in a family of Boiler Makers, Pipe Fitters, and Shipyard workers, Victor is the preferred torch among the serious welding trades...

Sounds like a damn good endorsement!
