I'm replacing the pan gasket on my burb this week and am wondering what the best tranny fluid to give it might be? Didn't want to go on the advice of any of the counter jockeys at auto zone.

I was told to use type F by Coan transmissions for my T400 in my Vette. It has a manual valve body, and 2600 stall convertor.

scott, what do you think about type f?

Type "F" is a ford Fluid and it will give a HARSH shift to the trans (supposedly the B&M trick shift fluid is nothing more than a green dyed type F fluid with an expensive price tag). I would recommend using the proper fluid.

I was told by the guys at Bowtie Overdrives to find the cheapest Dex/Merc III/IV I can, and just don't neglect PM (i.e.: change the fluid and filter regularly).
