well mebbe it was just the 13/16 and 21mm that i got to use on upper control arm bolts on f150s.... oh and the 15mm is still going strong for some reason...

It really just depends.....
I love thier impact sockets too but all of their air tools blow the seals the first time you use them.....And I wouldn't buy anything electric from them unless it is for a 1 time use because thats all you seem to get out of them......however, things like 12 ton jackstands, no moving parts and how can you beat 16.99 for 2 on sale every month, love the 1.99 clamps too.....

i bought a grinder that is over 2 years old now and still kicking...oh i have a set of thoose 12 tons and love em...Gravel Maker said:
Their battery powered stuff is total junk. I too have had good luck with their 4.5" grinders.
on a side note-the battery powered powered stuff i bought a ryobi set with a sazall,drill,light,and a circular saw and have been real impressed with the tools but not the baterries they die fast and dont get a full charge i think...rjfguitar said:
That is why I pretty much stick with Dewalt for my 18v cordless stuff. The battery quality seems to be not up to par on the cheaper tools compared to Dewalt/Milwaukee IMHO.

Thats our farm my Dad and Uncle keep buying the Harbor freight stuff. Some of the larger stuff for the tractors is S&K which is better then Pittsburg. But I have SAE Pittsburg sockets and like em for the price they work for me. Not the best it the world but the only troubles I have had is their Rachets are junk. Dads old sets have better rachets but my new ones are a year old and trashed. I bought a couple Snap-Ons to replace them and have never been happier.
Some Harbor Freight stuff is good, some of it is Junk. Its kind of a hit or miss type deal.
Stanley and Craftsman are good tools for cheap.
I started buying tools about 6 months ago off the Snap-On truck for my personal set in our shop. I keep getting hell from some friends about it and what not. But I look at tools as an Investment. You can buy a set of wrenchs every couple years for whatever price or you can spent more and have Snap-On, Mac or another brand and not have to every buy another set or it will be along time before you need another set anyway.

I inherited my grandfather's tools when he passed away a few years back. I've got all kinds of Proto tools that are at the very least from the early to mid 60's...more than likely the 50's. I try not to reef on them but at the same time they just seem like such quality pieces and also some are definitely better quality than even my modern Craftsman stuff. Heck, his old Craftsman or SnapOn stuff is better than the new stuff.
It all says "Made in the USA" too.

As for the electric stuff; I bought 2 4.5" grinders from there. One is still going, the other lasted about a week. I ended up with a a bandsaw from Enco, that I would bet the cost of replacing it, is made in the same plant as the HF one. It is flimsy- but the price was right!
yep i just bought the 12 tons the other day and they were 70 bucks...but they are worth it...i can actually sit up under my truck now!!
cheapest I have ever seen the tall 12 ton stands for is $59.99. You could use a 20% of any single item coupon tho... 
I don't think they'd be tall enough for my rig. At some point I'll prolly build some huge ones.

i got some 12 tons now and they are huge!!i can swap axles with my 38.5's on the axle and roll them under the bumper of the truck!!
How tall are those HF 12 tons? My Craftsman 3 tons are kinda short for Big Ugly.

That sounds right. I remember them being just under 3 feet extended. They are very stable, too.

Yep, your right, they were the 6 tons......
I just remembered them as 12 ton, likely just next to them on the shelf......the 6 tons will go about 24" if i remember correctly......
BTW, register online at HF and thats where you get the coupons for the big deals......sometimes 40%......usually 20-30% just about every week
