I just swapped the hydraulic setup out of my 84' and into my 72' What is the best way to bleed the clutch? I got pedal, But not enough until I pump it a few times

I usually remove the slave cylinder and with the line still hooked up push the rod all the way in then let it come back out on its own, repeat a few times until all the air is pushed back up through the master cylinder.

Make sure when you remove the slave to bleed it, you have the bleeder pointing straight up to get all the air out. Because, when the slave is mounted, the bleeder is pointed at an angle.

No need to open the bleeder, all you need to do is hold the slave so the hose is the high point and stroke the shaft to push the air back up to the master cylinder. The master may have some air trapped and it should come up through the top as well.

Nice method.

I too used the compress piston/tighten bleeder method, yours is much easier.

It doesn't take much bleeding to make it work in my experience.

You can probably gravity bleed the system too, it works for brakes, should work here, if not slow. More complex than just compressing it until the air goes to the master. :)

that is how I did it... works awww so nice...

I also did it this way and it work's pretty well. I could hear the bubbles coming out at the master. But mine still feels like it needs some more air out of it. Does the master need to be bench bled like a brake master?

Same method here, except while the pushrod was held in we pumped the clutch to pust the rod out. Then repeated, took probably half an hour.
