I just got a used TB off of ebay for cheap and wondering what would be the best way to clean it really well. Should i just take off the IAC and TPS and take it to a shop for a bath or what? THanks

I would take off any electrical part that would get dammaged by using carb or brake cleaner, cover or tape the connectors as best you can and spray away. Soak it well let sit for a few mins. to soften the crud, hit it again with more spray, use a wire brush if necessary. I think thats what I would do. Anyone see any issues with this method chime in and give a shout.

I would spray it with carb cleaner. I don't even worry about removing the IAC or the TPS switch as the carb cleaner wont hurt those items. I've done this many times and they come out looking damn near new again. Might take a couple times if it's real dirty.

x2, the carb cleaner is "softer" than brake cleaner. It's designed to do the same things, without eating away the rubber seals of a Carb.

Yeah, carb cleaner has less cutting power, might be better then brake cleaner on electrical pieces.

Some little round bristle brushes and a stainless steel toothbrush will clean it real well.
