I've read and heard you shouldnt use an impact because it can break loose the fixed or welded nut on the other side then you have to cut a hole in your cab. I've broken the nut with a regular wrench...so its your call, it all depends how rusty it is.

I think the impact gun is your most likely chance at removing them without breaking them.

On my first gen, grind off the head of the carriage bolt. Use a center punch and pound all the bolts out through the bottom. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
