I need to run 12 and 24v system on my K5.

What are my options?

Can I do both with 2 batteries? Or will I have to have 2 batteries for my 24v and 1 for my 12v?

My winch and my lights are going to be 24v.

J.C. Whitney sells a series/paralell switch that allows you to use 2 12V batteries and it will deliver 24 volts to the starter only during cranking, you might be able to use one of those to allow your 24V accessories to operate while retaining the 12V for the rest of the truck...not sure how any amps they will deliver for how long though,it may not like a long hard winch pull...

Look at the CUCVs.
Two 12V batteries in series, one 12V alternator for each of them (one of them with an isolated grund).
This way you could use both 12V and 24V all the time.

If you want to use a 24V starter, it needs an extra starter relay, since the ignition is 12V.
