A buddy of mine sold me a brand new Warn VR10000 for a couple of hundred bucks(retails for $900 CDN)- he bought it and didn't feel like installing a winch bumper so I took it off his hands after it sat in his garage for a year. Well, it has now sat in my garage for the better part of 6 months and I'm sick of looking at it. With spring around the corner, I'm planning on installing a winch bumper. There are some nice units out there, but which manufacturer offers the best bang for the buck? What are my other options?

Tactical Armor Group built my winch bumper and tire carrier. The price is right and over all I am happy. You better be in NO hurry if you order from them as they are in no hurry to get your bumper built. I'm talking months!

If anything I would only have them prime it. Take it to a local LineX guy and have it sprayed. They use rattle can bedliner and it does not last long.

I think the ORD low profile winch bumper is great looking. If you can go and pick it up from them then you could save serious coin on it... I know shipping on those things is horrendous.

I had the DIY4X A-Bomb installed on a '79 K5 that I had and that thing was pretty sick! Super stout, ties both frame rails together up front, has B-52's built into them, core support body mounts built into them, winch is tucked up out of the way, good approach angle and a little bit of a skid on the bottom. You can add tube to the front like @Kay86K5 or @K30Blazer did and add some protection for the front of the fenders.

Looks like Tactical Armour Group has closed their doors. The internet is full of bad stories about their poor customer service and shady business practices.

Yeaup, looks like they closed the doors and ripped some folks off. What is it with people.

I knew they did not have the best reputation having read reviews, but I gave them a chance just the same.

My front bumper from TAG came after about 6 months. The rear tire carrier in about the same, maybe a bit longer. It took some persistence on my part.

Sad thing is, they had some good designs. At least I thought so....

Love my DIY4X A-Bomb

Second time they've done that. They were called Kennesaw Mtn. first.

I remember literally years of the Kennesaw Mtn fiascoes, so many folks got screwed.

I love my DIY4X bumper center but I'm considering asking @cybrfire if he will make a "wing" kit to finish it into a complete bumper.
